Hello & Welcome!

On a weekly basis we get asked if we do mixed cd’s of what we do in the nightclubs, so rather than wasting a load of cd’s that will probably get scratched and used as tea mats for when your mother comes to visit, we thought we’d bash our heads together in a productive manner and came up with Press Play Podcasts.

Each month, each of the Press Play Podcasts DJ’s will record a live DJ Mix radio show for your enjoyment with you being able to comment on this very website about the content of the live recordings, as even though we’re the people putting it all together, it is still about you enjoying what you’re listening to.

In the podcasts we’re going to let you listen to what you’d hear us both doing in the clubs (both commercial and underground) yet keep it very “radio show” esque so we’re not just giving you another long mix of our track selection and mixing skills. Adding to this, we’re using podcast technology so that you can subscribe to the service so that you don’t miss any of the action. Details of how to do that can be found on our how to receive podcasts page.

Dave Beeson (As written by Mike):

There are very few DJ’s who can play dance music in an eclectic manner and pull it off successfully, and Dave is one of those such people. His philosophy of all types of dance music for all types of people rings out loud and clear as he rolls his set all the way from electro-house funkers through to dance floor destroying hard house. Ok, so you may think this is weird, but to see it go off every time Dave plays will leave you in jaw dropping awe with your feet pounding to the relentlessly grooving beat.

Not one to be stood hidden away in the DJ box (You can hardly do that at your height though can you Dave), you’ll see him beaming away and dancing along with anyone that throws a few shapes in his direction.

All of these qualities you’ll hear in his podcast. Stand by to smile constantly throughout.

Michael Emery (As written by Dave):

Since our first meeting nearly 20 years ago, the one thing that stands out time after time with Mike is his drive and enthusiasm toward all things “tunage”. Spending hours and hours researching new and old tracks , ever vigilant for that killer tune, Mike knows what makes the party rock. Always one to shy away from the limelight and hype, always beaming inwardly as he makes the room go off on a weekly basis whether it be at the legendary Pier in Cleethorpes, a large arena playing hands in the air trance music or somewhere deep underground blipping and bleeping whilst clinking milk bottles together at something o’clock in the morning when most people are either asleep or going about their business.

DJ, spectator, punter, clubber, promoter or just a pair of ears to listen to a friends ramblings; You will hopefully sample a taste of the above qualities in his podcast to the world.
